Create your office in a bag with me!
Whether you don’t have a dedicated office space in your home or want to work from a remote space such as a coffee shop or the kids’ sports practice, the office in a bag is the best solution for you to keep everything together and take it with you when you’re on the go.
Start with a bag
Choose a bag with plenty of room and pockets or use zippered pouches to corral similar items. Depending on your style, you can choose from a tote bag, a basket with handles, or even a backpack. Make sure it is comfortable to carry since it can get heavy depending on what you need to store in it.
I use a black Tory Burch tote with three compartments (no longer available, but this is a similar style).

What to put in the office in a bag
That will depend on your business and your needs. Look around the house for the items you constantly need and start putting them in a pile. Group them in piles before you decide where to store them in your bag.
As a small business owner, here is what I keep in my office in a bag:
- binder with my business planner, checkbook, envelopes, stamps, thank you cards, and gift cards.
- computer
- journal
- external hard drive
- pencil case with pens, highlighters, eraser, ID guard, stapler, glue, and cover-it.
- business cards + storage (large)
- chargers
- Ipad, pencil, and earbuds.
What else would you add to your office in a bag? Let me know if you give it a try! I linked some of the items I use below in case you need to assemble your office in a bag and inspiration for where to start.
