When our longtime client reached out about creating a creative home office, we were thrilled to help! She runs a soap-making business, and we’ve already worked with her to organize different areas of her home, including her soap atelier. This time, she needed a space where she could design and print labels, create soap wraps, and store all her crafting tools in an efficient and inspiring way. Since she spends hours working in this space, we knew it needed to be both functional and creative.
Planning the Perfect Creative Home Office
Every great project starts with a plan. First, our client sent us measurements of her space, and we created a shopping guide and mood board tailored to her needs and budget. We focused on furniture and storage solutions that would maximize her space while keeping everything accessible and visually appealing.
For this project, we chose a combination of IKEA pieces that are perfect for a creative home office:
- KALLAX Shelving Unit – Ideal for organizing larger supplies and displaying finished designs.
- ALEX Drawers – Great for storing paper, tools, and projects in progress.
- LAGKAPTEN Tabletop – A sturdy and spacious surface for designing and crafting.
- SKÅDIS Pegboard – Perfect for organizing Cricut supplies and other small essentials.
Organizing the Space
By the time we arrived at her home, all the furniture had been assembled (a huge time saver!). This allowed us to jump right into sorting and organizing her materials. We wanted to make sure every item had a designated place so she could work efficiently without clutter getting in the way.
One of the highlights of this creative home office is how beautifully we organized her Cricut supplies and vinyl rolls. We used the SKÅDIS Pegboard to hang her most-used tools, making them easy to grab while keeping the workspace clear. The ALEX Drawers became home to different types of paper, cutting tools, and small accessories, while the KALLAX Shelving Unit provided storage for bulkier items and vinyl materials.

Our goal was to create a space that not only functions well but also sparks creativity. A well-organized, creative home office can make a huge difference in productivity, and our client was thrilled with how everything turned out. She particularly loved the way we organized her Cricut supplies and vinyl rolls, making them easily accessible. Now, she can focus on designing and producing her beautiful soap packaging without the frustration of searching for supplies or dealing with clutter.
