Many times my kids don’t know what to do with their time. They get bored; they get into arguments with each other for fun or don’t do what they should be doing, etc. I realized that most of their boredom (and my frustration with them) is because they don’t know what is coming next. They don’t have a clear vision of the expectations we have for them. That is why I created a to-do checklist for them.

The concept is simple, but the results are so good. Instead of having me tell them what they should do, the checklist is telling them. It gets rid of the tension of mommy, asking them to do these things all the time.

This system is working so well for us that I wanted to share it with you! When you download the file to print at your home, you will get a blank page to fill out; however you see suits your family, and one sheet with my kids’ tasks. That is for inspiration or to use with your kids.

After I printed the checklist, I used a couple of sheet protectors to put in the checklist. The kids can use a dry erase marker to check off their accomplishments and win rewards.

Now let’s hope this system works for your family as well. What other techniques do you have in place for your kids?
